Our famous antipasto that has been on the River Cafe’s menu for over 30 years.
We have prepared and scored the squid for you so it is ready to grill. We have also added wild rocket and our chopped fresh red chilli sauce made with extra virgin olive oil.
Serves Two: two squid per person
AT HOME PREPARATION:
OVER HIGH HEAT, WARM A GRILL PAN, OR A LIGHTLY OILED FRYING PAN, OR WARM THE GRILL. SEASON THE SQUID ON BOTH SIDES WITH SALT AND BLACK PEPPER. PLACE THE SQUID (INCLUDING TENTACLES), SCORED SIDE DOWN, ON THE GRILL FOR 1-2 MINUTES. FLIP THE SQUID PIECES OVER; THEY WILL QUICKLY CURL UP, BY WHICH TIME THEY WILL BE COOKED. TOSS THE ROCKET IN A DRESSING OF LEMON JUICE, OLIVE OIL, SALT AND PEPPER. SERVE THE SQUID WITH THE RED CHILLI SAUCE ALONGSIDE THE DRESSED ROCKET.

For London (within the M25): We deliver Tuesday – Saturday, between 3pm and 7pm. Orders need to be placed by 12pm, one day prior to delivery.
For Nationwide: We deliver Wednesday – Friday. DPD will send a notification by 11am of your 1-hour delivery window. Orders need to be placed by 12pm, two days prior to delivery.
