Lo Scoglio

This past year, when travelling to Italy became possible again, it seemed everyone was talking about ‘Lo Scoglio’ on the Amalfi coast. The restaurant is on an open deck balanced on a boulder, jutting out to the Mediterranean.
Friends had stayed there, chefs had eaten there, customers wanted to meet us there.
We had to go—and that is what we did yesterday.

Lo Scoglio lived up to and, indeed, exceeded our expectations.
The family farm is run by Peppino de Simone whose daughters Antonia and Margherita manage the restaurant, and whose son Tomasso is the chef.
It is truly a family affair.
Beautiful plates of delicious food from the Amalfi region were shared by us all—fresh mozzarella di bufala, tomatoes, lemon and basil spaghetti, grilled langoustines, sorbets.
Try to go to Lo Scoglio, and if you do, send them all, our love.
