When and where do you deliver?

We deliver our entire range within the London M25 Tuesday to Saturday inclusive, and all non-perishable items and some perishables to addresses across mainland UK Wednesday to Saturday inclusive. 

We also deliver non-perishables internationally. 

See below for rates, transit times and other information regarding each region.

 

Deliveries within London M25

Deliveries leave The River Cafe Tuesday to Saturday at 3pm and will arrive by 7pm. The delivery charge is £15 for London postcodes and £20 for those in Greater London. 

 

Can I collect my order?

Yes, you are very welcome to collect your order from our shop at The River Cafe (Thames Wharf, Rainville Road, London W6 9HA) on your chosen day (Tuesday to Saturday), between 3-6pm. 


Can I collect or have my order delivered earlier in the day?

We are unable to have orders ready for delivery or collection any earlier than 3pm. This is to allow time for food to be prepared fresh on the day. 


Do you offer same day delivery or collection?

Unfortunately we do not have the capacity for same day deliveries or collections just yet. 


I won't be home when my order arrives - what shall I do?

We do ask that someone is in to receive and store your order upon arrival due to the fresh nature of many of the food products. 

If you realise that no-one will be available to receive the order, please provide us with specific instructions as to where or with whom you would like it left - either in the notes section when placing your order, or via one of the channels below. Instructions to leave items somewhere other than with a person at the delivery address are given at the customer’s own risk. 

In the event that we attempt to deliver as arranged but without success, extra charges may be applicable to the return of the order to The River Cafe or to a different address. If your order contains fresh items and needs to be re-delivered at a later date, we will have to prepare these fresh items from scratch and there will be a charge for the new and undelivered items.

 

How do I change my order from delivery to collection, or from collection to delivery?

Please let us know by 12pm on the day you have scheduled to receive your order if you wish to change your delivery/collection method by contacting us via one of the channels below. Any cancelled deliveries will be refunded accordingly.

Deliveries across Mainland UK

From Monday 1st February we will be delivering non-perishable and a range of perishable items to addresses beyond Greater London across Mainland UK (excl  all islands and the Scottish Highlands) via the DPD overnight network. The charge is £20.

Deliveries can be arranged for  Wednesday to Saturday inclusive. Place your order by 4pm for next day shipping, to arrive the day after, or select your preferred future delivery date.

Deliveries are scheduled to arrive by the end of day and you will receive text message updates from DPD. Please note that in the current climate, no carriers are able to guarantee their published transit times.

If your Nationwide order contains fresh food: Please note that only one delivery attempt will be made, and any orders that are not delivered on the day will be destroyed by the carrier. We therefore ask that there is someone present or nominated to receive your order up until 5pm on the day of delivery, or that a safe and sheltered place to leave the order is clearly described at time of ordering. We will not be able to process refund for orders of fresh goods that are unable to be delivered.

 

International deliveries

For International deliveries, we are currently using the carriers DPD, UPS and their associated carriers. Please note that in the current climate, no carriers are able to guarantee their published transit times.

 

 

Deliveries to Europe (inc. Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland)

We deliver non-perishable items to the following countries in Europe for a fee of £35, and transit can take up to five working days:

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland & Ukraine.

Please note that due to the UK's exit from the EU, these countries now set their own restrictions on items that are allowed for import from the UK. Please refer to this up-to-date list 

Deliveries are also now subject to extra charges, including VAT at the destination country's rate, customs processing fees for entering any EU country (these are variable), and processing fees for exiting the UK. Customers are liable for these charges, and they will need to be paid before the goods are released for delivery by customs. We are working through these challenges and will update this section as we gain clarity.

 

Deliveries to Rest of World

We deliver non-perishable items (excluding alcohol) to the contiguous United States and Canada for £50. Transit time is 3-5 days. Duty is not paid in advance.

We are able to deliver to other countries, although individual customs restrictions and shipping tariffs may apply. Please contact us for an accurate shipping quote for your order.

 

Returns

Unfortunately we are not able to accept returns of any fresh food items.

Please return homeware, books, drinks and store cupboard items - in their original packaging - within 28 days. These can be dropped off at, or posted to: The River Cafe, Thames Wharf Studios, Rainville Road, London W6 9HA.

We are only able to cover the cost of return if the items were faulty.
