Soave Classico ‘Calvarino’, Pieropan 2020
Available for delivery throughout mainland UK
The Calvarino vineyard (named ‘little calvary’ by the vineyard workers who had to toil on its steep slope) has been in the Pieropan family since 1901, and was one of Italy’s first single vineyard wines when it was initially produced in 1971.
Made from the native varieties Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave (the local name for Verdicchio), it remains one of the best Italian white wines. The pure, un-oaked, minerally fruit and tangy finish of this wine makes it superb with the Venetian classic "risi e bisi".
